San Diego Chinese New Year 2012

Downtown San Diego

The 30th Annual 2012 San Diego Chinese New Year Food and Cultural Fair is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, January 28th & 29th.

2012 celebrates the Year of the Dragon, and the downtown  blocks between 3rd and J Streets in the Marina District will be host this special event, rain or shine from 10am to 5pm both Saturday and Sunday.

In the Chinese Culture, the The dragon is a symbol of power.  It is perceived that 2012 is a special year well worth celebrating.

The San Diego Chinese New Year Food and Cultural Fair will host a multitude of entertainers and commercial vendors, showcasing the Chinese culture and cuisine.  Last year, over 25,000 people joined in the annual celebration!

There will be over 50 food and commercial booths with continuous live performances on stage, lion and dragon dancers, an Asian Story Theater, cultural displays, and educational crafts at the children area.  This will be a fun filled event for the entire family to enjoy.
