12/1 – Annual Ocean Beach Christmas Parade and Craft Fair | Newport Ave, Sunset Cliffs Blvd to Abbott St, Ocean Beach | Parade starts at 5:05 p.m. | Santa Claus on a fire truck, motorcycle riding dogs, geriatric surf team, and more

12/1 – Annual North Park Toyland Parade and Holiday Fair | University Ave, from Utah St to Iowa St, North Park | 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Large scale parade with marching bands, dance groups, cool vintage cars, beauty queens, city officials & Santa

12/1 – Annual Little Italy Christmas Village and Tree Lighting | Corner of W Date St & India St, Little Italy | 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. | Little Italy becomes a Holiday Village with holiday music, light refreshments, Santa and tree lighting

12/2 – Annual La Jolla Christmas Parade | La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect St, La Jolla | Festival 3:30 – 5:00 p.m., Parade 2:00 p.m., Christmas Tree Lighting 4:30 p.m. | Annual Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival will have musical performances, tasty foods, and an antique plane flyover

12/7 – Coronado Holiday Celebration – Parade – Tree Lighting | Ferry Landing Marketplace, Coronado | Starts at 3:20 p.m. | Santa arrives by ferry, parade along Orange Avenue, Christmas tree lighting, holiday music & fireworks over Glorietta Bay

12/7 – 12/8 – Balboa Park December Nights | Balboa Park | Friday 5:00 – 10:00 p.m., Saturday 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. | Free | Light displays, nativity, Santa, musical & dance performances, shopping, holiday food & spirits

12/8 – 12/23 & 12/26 – 12/30 – Garden of Lights – San Diego Botanic Garden | 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas | 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. | Over 100,000 lights illuminate the Gardens, horse-drawn wagon rides, holiday crafts, marshmallow roasting, Santa, live music & refreshments | Snow 12/9 – 12/16 & 12/26 – 12/30 (weather permitting)

12/8 – Mission Bay Christmas Boat Parade of Lights | Mission Bay: Quivira Basin, and along Crown Point, Vacation Island, Fiesta Island, & Sea World | 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Fireworks 9:00 p.m. | The best viewing areas from Crown Point, the west side of Fiesta Island or the east side of Vacation Island

12/9 – Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade | Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel at 4th & K Street, Downtown San Diego | Registration & Check-in 1:00 p.m., Parade 3:00 p.m. , Pet Expo 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.| Pet parade where pets and people dress in costume and march through Gaslamp Quarter

12/9 & 12/16 – San Diego Bay Boat Parade of Lights – 41st Annual | Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Convention Center, Coronado Island Marriott and Coronado Ferry Landing | 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. | Free | Large fleet of private craft decorated and illuminated for the holidays travel a 7-mile path from Shelter Island to Coronado

12/20 – Annual San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl | Qualcomm Stadium, 9449 Friars, Rd, Mission Valley | 5:00 p.m. | The San Diego State Aztecs face the BYU Cougars for the 2012 Poinsettia Bowl.

12/27 – Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade | County Admin Bldg parking lot, down North Harbor Drive and follows the waterfront, ending at West Harbor Dr | 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. (Parade 10:00 a.m.) | America’s Largest Balloon Parade, colorful floats, unique drill teams, marching bands, the Budweiser Clydesdale horses, and the Wienermobile

12/31 – Big Night San Diego New Year’s Eve Gala | The Hilton San Diego Bayfront, One Park Boulevard | 9:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. | ALL-INCLUSIVE – all drinks all night, buffet and entertainment throughout 12 different party zones

12/31 – Kids’ New Year’s Eve at Legoland | Legoland, One Legoland Drive, Carlsbad | 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. | Fun entertainment in Miniland, kids receive glow necklaces, fireworks viewing glasses & noisemakers, Fireworks at 6:00 p.m.
