The Mills at Cortez Hills | 1643 6th Ave. & 1642 7th Ave

The Mills Downtown San Diego Condos

The Mills was completed in 2004 by Skandia Real Estate Group and was built with steel, cement and wood.  The Mills  takes up the full city block at 6th Ave, Ceder St. 7th Ave and Hwy 5.  The Cortez Hill Mills is a medium rise complex that offers low HOA’s on 133 units consisting of Studios, 1 Bedroom, 1 bedroom plus den, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom condos.  The Mills offers 3250 square feet of commercial space on the 6th Ave side of the mid rise building.

On the corner of 7th and Ceder Street is a historical landmark that serves as the community center for the Mills San Diego.  The top floor of this Victorian House has a pool table, community room, fire place,  large screen TV and a full kitchen.  The basement floor consists of a modern gym with of coarse a television.  The Mills Downtown San Diego has several  lobbies which are a modern design and courtyards with trees and plants that bring in a park like feeling.

Located just across Hwy 5 is Balboa Park which offers walking paths, exercise and yoga groups, museums, restaurants, theaters, hospitality houses, flower garden, Spanish Village which boasts of artists and around the corner is the World Famous San Diego Zoo all of which is within walking distance of the San Diego Mills Condos.

The Mills Condos for Sale & Recently Sold

David’s view on The Mills Condos San Diego.

Prices at the Mills have never been lower than what they are right now.   Channel 4 news just stated that the prices in Downtown San Diego properties are going up and expected to rise at least 3.5% this year.  Newspaper articles have stated that downtown San Diego properties are one of only four cities where the property values are on the rise.  With the Mills being a Mid Rise Downtown Condo close to local parks, freeway access and low HOA’s, I would say that the Mills at Cortez Hill is an excellent buy for the dollar value.

Keep in mind that if you buy on the east side of the building you will pick up the freeway noise.  And any time you want to go dinner, a play, night clubbing or a function downtown you will have to drive and contend with parking.
