Carrier Classic

San Diego is about to host one of the most exciting college basketball games of all times.  Imagine an outdoor college basketball game with the San Diego Bay  as the backdrop.  Now take that game and put it on top of a United States Navy Aircraft Carrier.  There you have it, The Carrier Classic taking place on 11-11-11 is going to be a world class event.

Tip off is at 4:15pm PST and the game will be on ESPN

The Michigan State Spartans and North Carolina Tar Heels  mens basketball teams will travel to San Diego  to play an exhibition game to honor the servicemen and woman of the military on Veterans Day 2011.  This game to take place aboard the deck of the USS Carl Vinson and players uniforms will be school colored cammoflage designs.

President Obama is on the Guest List along with High Ranking Military Officers, San Diego Dignitaries and other supporters of the Military.  This is a special event honoring the the most important men and women in our country- our armed forces.

There are a limited number of tickets being sold and benefits from the event will help support charities like the wounded warrior project and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.  The game is to be televised on ESPN at 4:15pm PST and should be a proud day regardless of the outcome because San Diego is deep routed with military families.
