Cortez Hill Condos San Diego

Cortez Hill in Downtown San Diego is a peaceful neighborhood located atop a hill that is on the  northern edge of downtown.  It sits perched above the Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy, but is adjacent to Balboa Park and the Core, San Diego’s financial district.

Condos on Cortez Hill

Living in Cortez Hill has it’s benefits. It is the quietest neighborhood in downtown and has less traffic and retail businesses.  It is primarily a residential neighborhood, but has a few small restaurants, retail stores and even a few boutique Hotels.
Cortez Hill is the home of Tweet Street Park, a linear park that runs along the Interstate 5 Freeway corridor where 7th, 8th and 9th avenues all dead end at Date Street.  It’s a great park to walk your dog or if you have small children there is even a nice play structure for them to exhaust all that energy.
The Park is Named Tweet Street Park because of one it features artistically designed bird houses that were put in place to attract San Diego’s native birds like Bewick’s Wren.  It also features park benches, winding paths and even a series of colorfully designed fire hydrants for Fido or Fifi to enjoy.
Views from Cortez Hill are fantastic because you are already elevated above the city and need not be on a very high floor to enjoy fantastic views.  One of the other benefits of Cortez Hill Condos is that they are not as expensive as Little Italy, The Marina, Columbia or most of East Village.
Condos on Cortez Hill can be purchased for as little as $250,000 for a studio and most one bedroom condos will run from the high $200’s through the mid $300’s.
A good example of a one bedroom condo where there is good value is this charming property located at Symphony Terrace at 1333 8th Avenue.  This property is cute as a button and features 673 sf, recently remodeled kitchen with Corian Counters, newer maple cabinets, newer stainless appliances and an in unit washer and dryer.
The living space includes custom paint, white oak wood floors, floor to ceiling windows with a lovely tree top view towards the west.  The generous balcony enjoys gentle and cool westerly breezes from the San Diego bay.  Like most Cortez Hill Condos, this property features one parking space and as an added feature, it has some storage in the garage.  The bedroom features a large walk in closet and plenty of room for a king size bed.  Amenities include separate mens and womens fitness rooms, spectacular sun deck, pool and spa as well as a welcoming lobby.
Located just minutes from the San Diego Symphony, The Civic Theater, The Old Globe Theater, Shopping, Dining and Entertainment.  This is what downtown living is all about.  To learn more about downtown living, give us a call at 619-356-3099.
