San Diego May 2018 Event Calendar

4/29 – Bridal Bazaar  |  Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | $15 |  At the Bridal Bazaar you’ll find aisle after aisle of inspiration for your wedding.  Nearly 200 of San Diego’s most trusted wedding professionals will be on hand.

5/2 – Grunion Run with Birch Aquarium at Scripps |  Birch Aquarium at Scripps | 11:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. | $17 |  Watch hundreds of small silver fish called grunion ride the waves on to La Jolla beaches to spawn. 

5/4 – Friday Night Liberty @ NTC  |  Liberty Station, 2640 Historic Decatur Road | 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | FREE |  Open artist studios, galleries, performances and events throughout NTC at Liberty Station’s Arts & Cultural District.

5/5 – 5/7 – Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo | Old Town San Diego | Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | FREE | Live entertainment, kids area & stage, delicious food, beer garden and more.

5/5 – Rhythm & Brews 2018 | Vista Village District| 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM | $35-50 | The San Diego Brewers Guild’s Rhythm & Brews music and craft beer festival will pair many of the country’s most celebrated craft breweries with local musicians.

5/9 – 5/12 – 7th Annual San Diego Surf Film Festival |  Refer to website for schedule and locations | The San Diego Surf Film Festival welcomes everybody to come celebrate the passion that we all share for simply being in the ocean.

5/10 – 5/13 – Gator by the Bay Festival | Spanish Landing Park at Harbor Island, San Diego Bay | Refer to website for schedule | The event features 25 bands on five stages, dance lessons, Cajun cooking demonstrations and delicious crawfish.

5/11 – 5/12 – Mother and Daughter Teas | Westgate Hotel | 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm | $35-50 | Guests will indulge in a delightful array of delicious tea sandwiches and pastries as well as scones paired with traditional teas and a glass of champagne.

5/11 & 5/25 – Race Legal | Qualcomm Staduim, 9449 Friars Road, San Diego | 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | Race Legal, the safer and sanctioned track alternative to illegal street racing, was developed with one goal in mind. Saving the needless loss of young lives to an illegal street race gone bad is RaceLegal.com’s mantra.

5/12 – Chocolate Festival San Diego Botanic Garden |  San Diego Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Delectable chocolate tastings, demonstrations, chocolate fountain, children’s activities (ages 2-12), and a variety of Mother’s Day gifts.

5/12 – 70th Annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival | Robb Field | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | FREE |  Make and decorate your own kite / Get free materials, instructions, and help with kite making / Prizes awarded for best decorated kites.

5/12 – Festival of Arts in North Park | Located throughout the neighborhood shopping district of North Park |  11:00 am – 10:00 pm  | FREE  | On the forefront of the art scene, the SDCCU Festival of Arts in North Park celebrates all types of art forms including a live art element. There will be something for everyone, including the kids.

5/19 – 15th Annual Space Day Celebration  |   Air & Space Museum | 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Kids 17 and under are FREE with a paid adult admission |  Space Day will feature demonstrations, giveaways, and hands-on activities with local and national space experts.

5/19 –  SoCal Etsy Guild Artisan Market  |  Horton Plaza Mall | 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | An amazing day of handmade fun! Local designers, live art, handmade vendors, and music. All vendors will be located in the Amphitheater and South Plaza of Horton Plaza Park.

5/17 – Bike to Work Day  |  Join thousands of bike riders throughout the San Diego region on the morning of Bike to Work Day.

5/27 – 9/2 – Coronado Summer Concert Series | 601 Orange Avenue, Coronado | Sundays at 6pm | Sunday concerts in the park are signature elements of the Coronado experience where friendships and family memories are made.
