East Village
East Village is the largest neighborhood in downtown San Diego.
One of its greatest attractions Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, opened in 2004.
Scattered throughout the East Village are studios, artist’s lofts, galleries, restaurants and shops. Warehouses converted into residential mixed-use units, give this neighborhood a hip urban feel.
In the East Village, many educational opportunities are available at San Diego City College, the New School of Architecture, two high schools and in the future Thomas Jefferson School of Law (under construction).
Downtown San Diego’s Eclectic Hipster Neighborhood
The East Village neighborhood will experience the greatest growth in the years to come with the addition of thousands of homes and new office/retail space. Another highly anticipated project, the Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge, will link San Diego Bay and Balboa Park.
