San Diego Padres Season is Underway

San Diego Padres season is in full swing. And it’s off to a good start with the Padres in second position in the National League West with 3 wins, 2 losses. Colorado is currently in first with a record of 4-2. Of course it is way too early in the season to tell, but it is sure to be exciting!

The Padres face off with the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight for the remainder of game one and then game two of a three game series. Last night’s game was certainly atypical, with an already late start time and 4 rain delays totaling 3 hours and 36 minutes (more time than both teams spent on the field), the game ended up being suspended in the ninth inning with a 2-2 tie! That game will be played out tonight at 5:35 p.m. with tonight’s regularly scheduled game being played immediately after. Tonight’s game is sold out!

The Padres will wrap up the series with the Dodgers tomorrow and then immediately host the Cincinnati Reds for a 3-game series starting on Monday, April 11, 2011. That will conclude their stretch at home and they will be on the road at the end of the week, playing the Astros in Houston Thursday thru Sunday and then off to Chicago to play the Cubs.

An upcoming game you may want to put on the calendar is Friday, April 22 vs. the Phillies. This game will kick off this season’s first Friday Party at the Park – theme: Wine & Food Festival!  It’s also College Night hosted by Chegg.com.  These Friday night parties will be held approximately once per month (2 in June) and are sure to be a good time, each with a different theme. If you can’t make this one, the next one will be held on Friday, May 6 and the theme is Beerfest!

There are so many fun “extras” going on at the ballpark this season. Check out the Promotions calendar for a complete schedule of home games and their accompanying events, give-aways, kids’ events & more! Come out and support the San Diego Padres this season!
